Agora Gallery believes in contributing to the communities to which it belongs. As well as being a gallery centered in New York, we are well aware of our place in a diverse and demanding world, and it is our pleasure as well as our privilege to contribute to charitable causes both as a gallery and as individual members of staff.
Agora Gallery is located in Chelsea, the famous art district of New York. Yet we are also part of the city as a whole, and as such it is important to us to maintain a connection with charities in the city which help to improve life for the people living in it. In particular we are proud to support Art Start, a charity which helps under-privileged children who live in the city through art.
Moreover, just as it has done since its beginnings in 1984, Agora Gallery reviews portfolios presented by artists from all over the world, and is proud to represent their work to New Yorkers and a global audience. This strong international connection means that our place in the global village is a natural part of who we are, and when tragedy strikes on the world stage, we know that we too are affected. Following the recent tragic events in Japan, as well as standing in solidarity with our artists, we also initiated a fundraising project for the Red Cross disaster relief effort.
Our contributions come from the gallery as an organization, from the staff as a team and from the artists we represent, working together to fundraise, volunteer, and promote events intended to benefit charitable causes.
